What is Autonomic Response Testing - A.R.T
Autonomic Response Testing is a new form of kinesiology developed by Dr Dietrich Klinghardt, M.D.,Ph.D., that seeks to marry the American techniques and Philosophy of Applied and clinical Kinesiology, with the European developed therapy called Neural Therapy.
Dr Klinghardt is renowned for having developed the best Pain clinic in the U.S.A. He is currently training doctors, dentists and other therapists in A.R.T. to help with the diagnosis and treatment of chronic illness caused by the exposure to toxins and heavy metals from our currently polluted environment. A.R.T. is especially designed for helping people to achieve optimum health.
Autonomic Response Testing primarily focuses on the assessment of health and/or dysfunction of the Autonomic Nervous system. This system is the main regulator of normal and abnormal function of the body and nerves, as well as organs, tissues and cells, which are primarily influenced and controlled by autonomic homeostasis.
Autonomic Response Testing, therefore, includes many neurological tests that address the most common “illnesses” of the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS): toxicity of the nerve ganglia, hypo/hyper function, and blocked regulation.
The Five Levels of the Human Being
Dr Klinghardt’s success lies in the development of a map to guide Diagnosis and Treatment. He integrated knowledge that as a human being we function on five different levels. Diagnosing and Treatment are targeted on the level where the original cause for the body’s homeostasis to become imbalanced. The five levels are represented by:
- Physical Body – Sensations, Action/Motion
- Electromagnetic Body – Feelings
- Mental Body – Beliefs, Attitudes, Thoughts
- Intuitive Body – Symbols, Trance, Meditative state, Dreams, Curses, Spirit Possession
- Spiritual Body – Bliss, Oneness with God. This level represents the patient’s own experience and journey.
Each level has its own anatomical and connectional designation, related science, diagnostic method and Medical treatment/Healing techniques.

The A.R.T Testing Sequence
- Blocked Regulation
- Switching (electrical chaos in the nervous system, usually caused by electrical overload of the system). Most common causes are scar tissue, foci, teeth, tonsillectomy and acute trauma.
- Emotional Reversal: deep seated attitudes towards health that are buried in the subconscious mind. (I am able, willing, ready, etc to be completely healthy.)
- Testing of the communication from the ANS to the individual organs (Broekel Scan).
- Symptom Scanning
- Organ Scan
- Scanning the 7 Factors: 1) Food allergies, 2) Heavy Metal Toxicity (i.e. Mercury, Lead, etc.), 3) Solvents and man-made chemicals, 4) Interference Fields, 5) Jaw alignment and Malocclusion, 6) Acute or unresolved psycho-emotional conflict, 7) Geopathic stress.
- Colour: Colour treatment is a profound and easy to apply therapy that helps bring deep levels of the para-sympathetic healing (Yin state).
- Testing for nutritional and detoxification supplementation.
- Mental Field Therapy exercises: MFT is a powerful therapy to aid open regulation. The tapping points are related to the Acupuncture points found in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Patients will be given their own tapping sequence which will need to be exercised four minutes four times per day for a period of six weeks. This therapy works on the 3rd body of the human being.
Suggestions for Patient Management
- First Visit (1 and a half hours)
- Discussion of health issues, reason for visit, and questions regarding A.R.T
- A.R.T. exam: Unblock regulation, Unswitch and Body Scan for interference fields
- Second Visit (1 hour)
- Review and retest possible Interference Fields or recurrent Blocked regulation/switching
- Testing of the 7 Factors as listed on the previous page
- Design nutrient and diet plan
- Third Visit (1 hour)
- Review and retest possible Interference Fields or recurrent Blocked regulation/switching
- Treatment with Applied Psycho-Kinesiology or Mental Field Therapy
- Fourth Visit (1 hour or more, as required). Optional visit to test the following or a continuation of any previous sessions:
- Review and retest possible Interference Fields or recurrent Blocked regulation/switching
- Test for resonance of parasites
- Test for resonance of viruses
- Test for resonance of bacteria
- Test for resonance of fungi
- Fifth Visit (1 hour)
- As needed for further Applied Psycho-Kinesiology or Mental Field Therapy, testing of cosmetics, testing of other supplements,

Treatment Cost:
A.R.T. sessions (60 minutes) are charged on an hourly rate of £60.00 per hour, the first appointment is one and a half hours and is charged at £90.00.
If appointments run over by agreement they will be charged on a pro rata basis.
We require 24 hours notice minimum of any cancellation for appointments otherwise they will be charged for in full.
